Teacher: Brachial Plexus Syndrome

Case Study: Teacher; Brachial Plexus Syndrome
I work in education and I began to get a persistent pain in my left arm and shoulder - so much so that I was having range-of-motion issues. Being a teacher, I need to be able to gesture as well as demonstrate concepts to my students. Clearly this condition was beginning to impact the quality of both my work and my life.
My doctor said it was probably related to my brachial plexus - nerves in the shoulder and arm area. When i Googled this term, I found a tremendous amount of information, leading me to Image Based Surgery Center - a specialized medical facility that treats brachial plexus disorders as part of its focus.
After my consultation, it was decided that I should receive an MR neurography, a specialized scanning technology that allows doctors to visualize nerves in the human body. Previously, I was unaware that nerves are normally invisible to most scanning techniques, but MR neurography is a new MRI technology that can see nerves in scans.
This MR neurography helped my surgeon pinpoint the location of the problem that was causing the pain in my arm and shoulder area.
I had a minor surgical procedure and my outcome was great - I returned to work with a fully restored range of motion and my pain is now gone. I'm grateful for my experience at Image Based Surgery Center and would recommend it to anyone who needs specialized nerve-oriented treatments. It's professional, focused and well staffed.
Your safety is our primary concern at Image Based Surgery Center. That's why we only use MRI imaging for your procedures. No dangerous radiation from repeated CT scans or x-rays - only the 100% safe, completely comfortable Philips Panorama MRI for all your imaging requirements.
